Do Confirmed Suite Upgrades really work?

Yes — they are applied at the time of booking, not at check-in. You select a specific stay, apply the certificate, and the suite is confirmed on your reservation. The upgrade is subject to suite availability at the moment the certificate is applied (not space-available at arrival), but once confirmed on a booking it is guaranteed. Certificates are not valid at Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, or other select-service brands.

How is IHG Diamond Elite different from Platinum Elite?

Platinum Elite (the tier below Diamond) earns 75% bonus points, gets free breakfast at participating brands, and receives priority check-in. Diamond Elite adds Confirmed Suite Upgrade certificates, increases the points bonus to 100%, unlocks milestone rewards every 20 elite nights, adds guaranteed room availability at 72+ hours, and provides a dedicated Diamond-only customer service line.

Which version should I choose — 23-night or 40-night?

Both deliver the same Diamond Elite status. The 23-night version includes 130,000 bonus points. The 40-night version adds 30,000 more points (160,000 total) and includes Executive Lounge access and an additional milestone credit. If you plan three or more IHG stays before end of 2027, the 40-night version returns more total value. For lighter use, the 23-night option is sufficient.

Does Diamond Elite status apply at Six Senses and Regent?

Yes. Both Six Senses and Regent are IHG One Rewards partner brands where Diamond Elite status is recognised. Members consistently report preferred welcome amenities, room upgrades, and personalised treatment at these properties. The standard tier benefit list understates the Six Senses and Regent recognition — in practice it functions as VIP status at those hotels.

How long does processing take after purchase?

Is breakfast included at Holiday Inn Express?

What happens to my existing IHG points and stay history?
