What is Guest of Honor and how does it work?

Guest of Honor allows a Globalist member to book a stay for someone who is not a World of Hyatt member or holds a lower tier — and that guest receives every Globalist benefit: full breakfast, suite upgrades, guaranteed 4 PM late check-out, and waived resort fees on their reservation. You book the stay under your account; the guest's name goes on the reservation. There is no limit on the number of Guest of Honor bookings per year, and the benefit can be used for family members, friends, or colleagues.

Are resort fees really waived on paid stays?

Yes — Globalist is the only major top-tier hotel status that waives resort fees on both paid and award stays. At Andaz Maui the resort fee is approximately $45/night; at Grand Hyatt Kauai it is $40/night. Across a 7-night resort stay for two adults, that is $280–315 in charges eliminated. No other major programme's top status (Hilton Diamond, Marriott Titanium, IHG Diamond) waives resort fees on paid stays.

How do Suite Night Awards work?

Suite Night Awards (SNAs) are Globalist's suite upgrade certificates — 6 are issued per status year. Starting 5 days before your arrival, you can request one or more SNAs on an eligible booking. If a qualifying suite is available, your upgrade is confirmed within 24 hours of check-in. SNAs can be requested on paid and award stays at most World of Hyatt brands (excludes some partner properties). They are more reliable than space-available check-in upgrades because the request window is fixed and the outcome is communicated in advance.

Does the breakfast benefit work at award stays and resorts?

Yes — Globalist breakfast applies at every World of Hyatt brand property worldwide, on both cash and award stays, regardless of whether you're at a resort or a city hotel. It covers full breakfast (not just continental) for up to 2 adults and 2 children per room. This applies at Park Hyatt, Alila, Andaz, Miraval, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, and other brands in the portfolio.

Is this safe to use on my existing World of Hyatt account?

Yes, provided you have not completed a Hyatt Globalist challenge in the past 3 years. If you have, the status must be applied to a new account — provide full legal name and email for account creation at checkout. For members with no recent challenge history, Globalist is applied to the existing account with no impact on points balance, stay history, or elite night count.

How long does Globalist processing take?

Approximately 30 days from the time we receive your World of Hyatt account details. Allow for the full window before planning travel that requires Globalist recognition — particularly if you are relying on resort fee waivers or breakfast at a specific stay.

How is Hyatt Globalist different from Explorist?

Explorist (the tier below Globalist) earns 30% bonus points, receives space-available room upgrades at check-in, and gets a complimentary Club lounge access perk annually. Globalist adds full breakfast at every stay, resort fee waivers, 6 Suite Night Awards, guaranteed 4 PM late check-out, Guest of Honor booking rights, and access to the Globalist concierge line. The breakfast and resort fee waiver alone account for most of the material per-trip value gap between the tiers.

Do I get the Two Complimentary Award Nights with this purchase?

The Two Complimentary Award Nights are a milestone benefit earned by completing 60 qualifying nights natively in a single status year. They are not included in this purchase. If you complete 60 qualifying nights at World of Hyatt properties during the covered period, those milestone nights will be credited as normal. This is an open question worth confirming if your stay volume is close to that threshold.
