The Confirmed Suite Upgrade certificate is subject to suite availability at the time of booking application; once confirmed it is guaranteed. Breakfast benefit excludes Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, and other select-service brands. Late check-out is request-based to 2 PM, not guaranteed — guaranteed check-out requires Diamond.

Does IHG Platinum include free breakfast?

Yes — complimentary breakfast for the member and one companion at participating full-service IHG brands: Crowne Plaza, voco, Hotel Indigo, Kimpton, and InterContinental. Holiday Inn Express already includes breakfast for all guests (no incremental benefit there). Breakfast is not included at Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, or other select-service brands.

How does the Confirmed Suite Upgrade work at Platinum?

Platinum members receive one Confirmed Suite Upgrade certificate per anniversary year. Apply it to an eligible booking by contacting the property — the upgrade is confirmed at the time of the request, subject to suite availability at that point. Once confirmed, it is guaranteed. Applicable at InterContinental, Kimpton, Crowne Plaza, and voco. Not valid at Holiday Inn Express or extended-stay brands.

How is Platinum different from Gold Elite?

IHG Gold Elite provides priority check-in and a 10% bonus on base points — it is primarily a recognition tier with limited practical per-stay value. Platinum Elite adds complimentary breakfast, 60% bonus points (vs Gold's 10%), the Confirmed Suite Upgrade certificate, and late check-out. Platinum is the first IHG tier with material daily-use benefits.

How long does processing take?

1–2 business days from receipt of your IHG One Rewards member number and name.
